I would have been very surprised if I was told several years ago that in the future I would be pursuing a profession as a mechanical engineer. That's because I was probably riding in a van somewhere with bandmates, eking out the quintessential nomadic lifestyle one envisions of a touring musician. I spent six years as the drummer in an indie rock band and it was just as much of an adventure as you might expect.

Endless curiosity and a love of learning eventually compelled me to shift gears and pursue an education. I was naturally drawn toward math and the hard sciences, so when I learned about mechanical engineering it sounded to me like the perfect marriage of all those subjects. I set my sights on the University of Washington and from there earned my BSME with a focus in Mechatronics in June of 2020.

My unique background as a professional musician taught me how to work creatively with others, and my engineering degree gave me the tools to deploy that creativity into the real world. I want to find the hard problems that need creative solutions. Know of any? Let's talk.
